After 29 years of continued success in the Northern Territory, Cerbis Ceramics new showroom in Adelaide provides an opportunity to showcase a large range of stone and ceramic tiles. Building upon the brands existing reputation, the entry into the Adelaide market required a space that appealed to both the commercial and residential client.

This project provides a space to showcases their diverse product range; it forms a vital connection with the wider general public and specifiers. The product on show ranges from stone, tiles and feature wall claddings. Forming larger windows and opening the view into the showroom space was crucial in ensuring the space offered high visibility both day and night with the fitout brief focused on utilising the transparency of the space.

Conceptually the studio was seen as a multipurpose and interactive space. It centres on the customers’ ability to undertake a holistic selection of displayed materials for any given project. The selection journey was considered to ensure that future expansion of the space into other retail opportunity but still enabled a clear hierarchy of space.

The family owned business ensured that close collaboration with the client occurred at all phases of the project. The fitout was fabricated in Darwin by the client. The design team worked closely with the fabricators in Darwin to ensure quality detailing was achieved throughout. Careful material selections ensured the strengths of the fabricators technical ability was utilised.
